We decided to revamp our site. We hope that you find the look and the feel to your satisfaction. The idea for this brand new look was all down to you: the tiler. Of the questions, the feedback and the correspondence we came to the conclusion that what tilers really wanted was to have some form of interactivity and something new to see each day/week. Initially the site would be mostly shop-orientated but tilers (especially new tilers and tilers who are perhaps new to the Sigma tile cutter) wanted to see the Sigma in action. Hence the Sigma tile cutters videos.
From time to time we will be showcasing how the famous Sigma tile cutter works. To be honest, the Sigma doesn´t need much introduction but once you see how easy the Sigma cuts through tiles and how remarkable this cutter truly is then it should give you at least an inclination before buying.

The big argument to grouting from some of the tilers we spoke to was: is the washboy really worth the money? Typical answer of older tilers and tilers who are experienced with the old-style bucket & sponge was, "I wouldn´t waste the money on a washboy set when a basic washing sponge from underneath my sink will do just as good."
The newer and probably more open-minded tilers were not afraid to give the washboy a whirl. After the initial getting used to the washboy and this innovative way of grouting, these tilers all said pretty much the same thing: "After using the washboy it was really hard to believe I lived with car sponges and loads of dusting cloths."
The washboy might not be for everyone; but for the ones who are willing to give it a try there´s no doubt you´ll find it difficult to go back to using the hand sponge or the ripped-up foam from burst sofas. For under fifty-quid (in some case, well under fifty-quid) you´ll be amazed to see a quicker, cleaner and more flush grout/joint line result.

Let´s cut to the chase here. A few tilers who have just came off the back of a tiling course have come to us with a feeling of inadequacy. They think because they began a tiling course at thirty or fortysomething that they aren´t as good as someone who has served their time the traditional way. Here´s a thing; it doesn´t matter how long you´ve been tiling, it is down to what you know, what you can do and add a bit of spice to the service you are providing and how you treat your customers. It´s all of that and a bit more that will separate you from the pack. After-sales care is great but you first have to do the pre-sales and pre-job care before anything else.
Most new tilers want to set off on their own and yes, you can make a really good living from tiling but as long as you have the right skills, the right tools and the right presentation there´s really nothing to stop you from having a tiling business that can be lucrative. It´s a question of personality, too.
We have some marketing means that are designed to help you. From business cards, newspaper ads, creating a business name for your venture and building a website to give your business that little added credibility and trust. Websites are great if you can have before and after pictures of your works. Many new tilers don´t know how to do these things and believe the costs are gigantic but that is further from the truth. Okay, so you´re a Rubi guy and you don´t like Sigma tile cutters. You are some other brand of cutter guy and you don´t like Sigmas or Rubi. Here´s the deal...at no point will you read or hear any of us at Amoroc Tools say anything about any other brand in a negative way. You might be an ADIDAS guy or a NIKE guy and this is how we see it all. It´s a matter of taste. We sell Sigmas because we either grew up with Sigmas and we believe in Sigmas. It might have been a different story if we originated from the Rubi tile cutter but it turns out that we worked with the Sigma and we have a Sigma audience and we´ve even subconsciously attracted tilers who worked with other brands of cutters. Not saying we had anything to do with the changeover but we guess the tiler had a shot on one of the Sigma ranges and was hooked.
It is all a question of taste. It really is that simple. From our point of view we are not in the business of trying to pull tilers away from their preferred tile cutter but we strive to promote the cutters we already deal with rather than spending too much energy in trying to entice tilers away from their original cutters. If you drive a Toyota then you drive a Toyota but if we had another vehicle brand and you came to us we´d naturally offer you the brand we believe in.
So, if you are a Rubi guy then so be it and good luck. The Rubi is a good cutter; it has many features and facilities but given the choice of being stuck on a desert island with a Sigma or a Rubi we know which cutter we´d rather share a lagoon with.

As you´ve noticed, we do have a Frequently Asked Questions page but what we did was set up our forum page so that tilers can go and find some solutions to their queries. Currently the forum is new but we are always looking for tilers to join so get cracking and set yourself up an account. Of course, it´s free and it gives all you tilers a place to swap tiling tips and ideas.
We´ll be dropping by frequently so hope to see you there.
